Most publications are defined by their subject. We are defined by our standards. A piece about a typewriter repairman belongs in the same conversation as a piece about neuroscience or architecture — because what they share is more important than what separates them.
Every story we publish has been edited, not just proofread. We think the internet has enough content; we are trying to add fewer, better things.
